Hubbub is similar to an instant messenger, but it's more about feeling connected to your buddies all the time, even when you're not interacting. It makes use of sounds to let you hear people in the background so you know when someone is there. Here are three things that make it different from what you may have seen before. |

 Hear a Tune And Know Who's There
Everyone chooses a Sound ID (a few notes from a song) that is like their name. Here's one from the song The Entertainer (click the note to play it):  Each time someone becomes active on their computer, you hear their Sound ID (unless you turn it off). That might remind you of something you wanted to ask them, or maybe it'll just make you feel more connected to them. |

 Send Sound Instant Messages
Sound Instant Messages are short strings of notes that have meaning, like these (click to hear them):     So once you learn the sounds, you can get a message and not even have to look up -- you know who it's from and what they're saying. And you can respond with one click or tap. |

 Stay Connected When You Move Around
Hubbub runs on a PC and wireless Palm*.You can be logged into Hubbub from as many places as you want at the same time. As soon as you become active on a new machine, messages "follow you" there -- without logging in each time. Plus, everyone can see where you are (unless you don't want them to).
* Hubbub runs on a Palm V or III with a Minstrel modem, like the kind you get from Omnisky. |

| So... Hubbub is about staying connected to people and feeling part of a group, whether you're interacting or not. There are other features to help you get a sense of other people's comings and goings, and to help you stay closely in sync when you are in a conversation. So even if you work from home, you'll feel part of the group, and even when you're away from home, you'll feel connected to your family and friends. |
