Hubbub is like an instant messenger, but it's designed to help you stay aware of your friends, colleagues, and family all the time.
Hubbub uses musical sounds to identify people, so you can tell who just became active without looking. You can send people text messages, of course, and you can also send "sound instant messages," short musical sounds that mean things like "hi," "bye," "thanks," "LOL," "bummer," and so on.
Hubbub runs on a PC and a Palm III or V with an Omnisky wireless
modem. As you move from your home PC to your work PC to your Palm, message "find you" wherever you're active. When you're in a conversation, Hubbub lets you know when your messages arrive on the other end and tracks your partner's focus, so it's easier to stay in sync.
Hubbub is a research prototype from AT&T Labs, not a fully supported product. We are releasing it to learn more about its use among a broader community outside AT&T. We encourage you to try it and give feedback.
